To The
Many Moons
To the many
moons and
Phases of
life
We kiss our
stars
We dream
through weary nights.
Passing by
Jupiter
Shooting
through the universe,
We fill black
holes
And avoid
deadly meteors.
Expanding our
wants,
Finding our
needs,
We fly from
galaxy to galaxy,
Breathless
and impassioned
At the lives
we lead.

The Garter
Snake
Little
garter snake was happy at spring being abound. He slithered about the
yard and ate little bugs to his great delight. It would be easier to
avoid the cat and birds now that it was no longer winter. One day,
the little garter snake was out in the yard getting lots of exercise
when he saw the cat come outside. He knew that cats only reacted to
movement so he paused and stayed very still. He lost view of the cat
but the little garter snake dared not move. Days went by and garter
snake never moved.
Eventually,
after many, many days, the people who owned the house went out to the
yard to play with their dogs and cats. At the end of their play
time, they picked up their cats and went in. As they walked in they
screamed! They nearly stumbled upon a snake. The snake was
unfortunately completely dried up. The little garter snake had
stayed put for too long and the sun sucked all the life from it
making it stay upright like a statue for the rest of time.
