I got another letter from my brother!

I was so thrilled when I went outside yesterday to check the mail and there it was! A letter from my little brother! I literally danced in the street and yelled! He is doing really well. He should be in Camp Pendleton right now for about 3 weeks. He is keeping his eye on the prize and focused on graduation. I am so excited to see him finish Marine Corps. boot camp!

I hope everyone is having a great week and a happy Friday!

The Memory

“I know you,” she whispered as he approached her in the grove.

“I wish I had never had to leave you,” he said.

“How do I know you?” she asked.

“We loved each other once,” he explained.

“I feel like I still love you,” she confessed.

“Nothing's changed except your memory. I never stopped looking for you,” he declared as he took her hands.

“What happened to me?” she asked.

“They knew we were powerful. They knew that together we could conquer them and destroy them. The witches knew that if you forgot you loved me and took me away then they could continue to prepare for their leader to come back,” he explained.

“Witches? They erased you from me? Where did they take me?” she was confused. She had been a normal girl until she saw him in the grove.

“They took me to a prison inside a mountain where they cast a spell to keep me there. I convinced one of them that I would never look for you, that I was dying. She let me go and I immediately came to look for you,” he told her.

“So, what are we?” she inquired.

“We are Eternals. You and I are the only ones left. The rest of us were destroyed by the witches. They weren't as powerful as you and I. We come from a long line of royalty. Our parents were made Eternals by an ancient coven of witches. They were given the power to create more Eternals to take over the evil coven of witches who captured me and destroyed your memory. These evil witches are extremely powerful. Your parents knew that when they saw me that we would be the ones to save them all. By separating us they were able to kill everyone who was out in the open,” he explained to her.

“This is all so much. What do we do? How do we save our people?” she asked.

“Kiss me. It is the only thing the witches can't destroy. They can't destroy our love that is why they separated us,” he said hopefully.

“So we are like a Disney movie? You are Prince Charming and I am your Aurora or Snow White or Ariel?” she giggled to him.

“I guess you could look at it that way,” he smiled.

“I guess we better kiss and save our people then,” it was then that they kissed and all her memories of thousands of years as an Eternal flooded back.

“Do you remember?” he asked.

“Everything! We have to go there is so much to do,” she insisted.

“Wait, just a second. I spent thousands of years with you until last year. Let me have a minute then we can go save our people,” he said before kissing her again.

The Pumpkin and the Squirrel

Normally when the squirrel saw pumpkins they were too big to carry home. Usually he would take pieces home and those were wonderful but it was so much work running back and forth with pieces of pumpkin. One day the squirrel saw a surprise waiting for him outside a home. Tiny little pumpkins all in a row! They were various colors and shapes but pumpkin all the same. The squirrel was so happy! He felt like he had hit the jack pot. While his family was out he ran down his tree and fetched each little pumpkin. He set a pumpkin out for each of his family members and even some friends. When everyone came home with their bits of foraging they found their own pumpkins just waiting for them. They were all so thrilled! They hugged their papa squirrel and thanked him for their feasts. The squirrels squeaked and chatted the night away as they gorged themselves on delicious little pumpkins of their own.
