Jardin du Luxembourg and the Paris Love Locks

This was probably the most interesting day. It was a Sunday and everything was closed so we just kinda walked around and ended up in the Luxembourg Gardens. From there we happened to witness a military ceremony honoring a few men, one in a wheel chair. We have no clue exactly what was going on but we kinda guessed. After that we happened to stumble upon a 700 year old cathedral and the bridge filled with the love locks. We also got to eat at Les Deux Magots where I happened to sit at Hemingway's seat! How cool is that! Tomorrow I will post the Bastille Day pictures. There are lots of them so I didn't want to bombard everyone with too many spectacular pictures. Also, as you can see at the end of this post, we caught an INCREDIBLE sunset behind the Eiffel Tower. I have never seen a sky so pink! Sorry for so many of those pictures but I just could not decide which ones better represented the view we had!

This was such a cool fountain but it was turned off the day we went to visit.

This says "Water Non-potable" for us this was hilarious because of an episode of Parks and Recreation where Ron Swanson has his 'O'ffice. I posted the video to my blog once and it kills me every time!

These grounds were so beautifully manicured!

We were caught in the rain so we stopped for an espresso and some crepes!

And some fun too!

"Take pictures of people not places, or people in places."

Such a handsome guy!

I wanted for quite some time for that pigeon to leave...

Only for another one to show up. Jerks.

Such a lovely vision!

Once we got into the grounds of the gardens more we saw all these statues. They were queens of France throughout history!

This one was pointing at Scott.

Mary, Queen of Scots

Some of the names came out better than others.

This is of Marie de' Medici. Her statue was under restoration and that is why this stuff was around her.

It was like a little paradise!

This is the ceremony we watched.

Little duckies in the pond!

We stayed in an apartment near that tower back there!

This was a fountain in honor of Marie de' Medici. These pictures don't even show the brilliant depth and Gothic feel of this mythical themed pond.

It had giant fish in it too!

There were these crazy toilets there! It was a large stall that you pushed the button to open. You walked in, did your business, washed your hands inside, dried them then pushed a button to leave. The door shuts behind you and goes into a sanitation process where it sprays down the whole stall and heat cleans it! How cool!

This was a fountain in front of the old cathedral we found.

Outside...

And inside! So amazingly beautiful!

the dueling cafes!

Hemingway!

They don't put street signs on the street, they put them on the side of buildings.

The Eiffel Tower is washed out behind us.

 We are forever in Paris!

There were so many locks that a few parts of the bridge broke apart landing love locks in the river!

We are in there!

We tried!

View from the bridge

The best shot!

We could not believe we were home to see this sunset! This is also around 10 pm. Long days in the summer here and the sun rises about 4 am.

Just me sitting on the tiny stoop appreciating the view!

Does Paris love the Broncos too?

I just love this city and I am so happy to share my time there with all of you!
