A birthday poem, a lyrical story and Bastille Day pictures!

Yesterday was not only +Nicole LeVasseur's birthday but also +Nakita's too! How awesome that two of my best friends were born on the same day! life is really great! Keeping up with the past couple days posts I will be sharing pictures from Bastille Day, the 5th day we were in Paris, and the 6th day at Musée d'Orsay. We weren't allowed to take many pictures from the Orsay visit but it was an incredible museum. There were lots of sculptures, whole room settings, paintings, impressionists work, etc. it had an incredible clock and view! Plus we got to eat at Café de Flore! Word of advice: order what you know or you may end up with a quiche that has tuna in it and it will gross you out to taste fish when you didn't know you had fish.

See you all tomorrow with pictures from our day at the Louvre!

Musical Inspirations

In this dream I have I'm staring off a balcony, to an open wound where all the suckers who have wronged me will be marching off to their impending doom. You can bow and pretend that you don't, don't know you're a legend. Time, time, time hasn't told anyone else yet. I know there are times you're so impossible, that I should sign a waiver and you will find someone worth walking on when you ask me to go. Well if you think I’m being harsh well, baby, keep on counting stars because I hate everyone, I hate everyone, I hate everyone upon this cursed earth. I know I expect too much and not enough all at once. You know I only wanted fun then you got me all fucked up on love. I mean you don't know the things I do for you while you are out cold the things I do for you will lead to my breakdown and I'm still curious. Send this out to sea, send it where you want it. You can take it note for note and not at all. There’s no filling up your spaces with fictionary places, imaginary faces they don’t work at all. We knew this day would come, we knew it all along. How did it come so fast? Caught you looking at my reflection. This is not the way we procreate. Give me something else than affection, swollen suffering fantasy of hate. Baby, seasons change but people don't and I'll always be waiting in the back room. I'm boring but overcompensate with headlines and flash, flash, flash photography but don't pretend you ever forgot about me.

The Best Friends Club

Born the same day,
Can you believe my luck,
Separated by years
And many miles,
They came together
To complete my life.
Both quirky and weird
But awesome that way.
They have passions
And dreams,
They have a thirst
For this great life.
Happy birthday to
The best girls I know
Pookie and Super Ninja

I love you both!

Bastille Day celebrations start at the Arc de Triomphe.

The president of France is at the Arc de Triomphe. He will drive down the Champs-Élyées and watch the parade come to him from the Grand Palais I believe.

The entire city of Paris was there! Bastille Day is kind of like America's Independence Day. They celebrate the day the people revolted against the monarchy. It is not their independence day (they don't have one) but it is celebrated with as much flare as our 4th of July.

They were so cute!

A French Drone.

The ENTIRE military, including police and firemen who are a part of the military, take part in the parade.

Even the military dogs got to take part!

This year was extra special. It marked the 100th year since the start of WWI. Many lives were lost in the first great war and the French spent the entire day honoring them.

This was one of my favorite shots!  A little history lesson for you: the French adopted the red, white and blue colors for their flag during the French Revolution. They saw the Americans break free from their monarchy and the French people wanted the same so they adopted the colors of the American flag to help inspire the people to revolt. It has been the national flag ever since.

Even the military aircrafts gave us a show!

Don't forget the helicopters!

This dog was very eager to go!

Marching, marching, marching!

Even the bikes!

Some of these tanks were so huge!

We couldn't go in but we did get to see Victor Hugo's house. There was a girl outside singing opera songs for tips. It was neat.

Waiting for the fireworks.

As we waited for the world first fireworks show we got to see an opera concert performed by world famous opera singers and a world famous conductor!

Every night the tower glitters so we got a glittery opera concert.

And it begins! The fireworks that went off here said 1914 and 2014.

This was the first time ever that fireworks have been shot off of the Eiffel Tower and we got to see that!

The little white dot near the stop and the little blueish dot near the base of left firework are acrobats! The top one was scaling the Eiffel Tower and the other one was swinging in the middle of the tower. This whole show was set to music.

One of my favorites!

The food was great!!!!

The guy who owns this DeLorean sat next to us. Scott was in awe!

This was the clock on the front of Musée d'Orsay.

These little images were all over t
