My brother, the Marine.

Yesterday, my little brother Christian signed a contract for the Marines. Most of his classmates will be enjoying this summer of freedom before they dash off to college in August. My brother will be spending his last summer as a normal citizen before he goes to boot camp in October. It makes me feel so many things that I can't really process it. I am so anxious to let him go and be in the military. It is scary and I worry about him. Now with that said, I am beyond supportive of him. I am so proud of the choice he is making. He is such a smart and awesome kid and I am just thrilled that he is making such a brave choice. As sad as I will be when he leaves, I will be happy knowing he will get to see the world and do something honorable. I am super excited to brag about my brother, the marine, as well. I just love that kid!

I hope everyone is having a great start to the weekend! My stories will be below the picture!

The Pond and the Kiss

A boy and a girl sat at a pond, skipping pebbles and splashing their feet. The boy looked at the girl and smiled. The girl smiled back. He kissed her on the cheek and turned away. She was shocked and fluster, she didn't know the boy liked her. She raised her hand to her cheek and blushed, filling the apple of her freckled cheek with a hot pink, and turned away. When she turned back to him he was holding a flower, coyly looking at her with a shy smile on his face. She took the flower and kissed him back on his sweet cheek then they sat until the sun went down, skipping pebbles and splashing their feet.

The Apple That Fell From the Tree

Squirrel was sitting under the tree, eating peanuts to his delight. Suddenly from high in the sky an apple fell next to him. He scattered and ran and yelled all across town about the tree attacking him. He could not fathom why the tree did not like him. He could not figure out why the tree was trying to kill him. He grabbed a peanut and climbed up the tree. He left the peanut as a peace offering to the tree. As he sat and waited for the tree to accept his gift, squirrel noticed that the tree dropped another apple!

“The tree does not hate me! The tree does not want to attack me! The tree hates the ground!” yipped the squirrel.

To his great joy and ignorance he was grateful to know the tree was angry with the ground. He left his peanut for the tree as a gift of appreciation. He scattered around town telling everyone that the tree did not hate him, the tree hated the ground. All was well in the world of the little squirrel, but he no longer ate under trees just in case the tree mistook him for the ground.
