That is the fog from Silverthorne to Idaho Springs. It was so eerie but so cool at the same time! I hope everyone had a great weekend!

D-Day
They
dropped from the air,
They
landed bombs on the enemy,
They
stormed the beaches
And
endured a great battle.
Thousands
of men
So
many lost.
Bullets
blazed past them,
The
beaches had barbed obstacles
But
the brave men pushed on.
As
they parachuted from the clouds
And
crawled out of the sea,
The
enemy fought hard
Just
not hard enough.
Memorials
in Europe and America
Commemorate
the day that ended it all
And
the lives lost in battle.
The
Allies prevailed,
The
Axis fell,
Many
never returned
The
hearts of mothers were broken
But
our world changed forever
And
rose from the ash,
Thanks
to brave men
And
the ones who never came back.

The
Laughing Baby
There
is nothing like the sweet laughter of a baby. It warms the heart and
makes everyone you feel hopeful for the future. At least it is sweet
when it isn't 1 am and you live completely alone. I inherited the
family farm and I have help during the day but I am only 18, I don't
have any other family. When I first heard the cries coming from the
back room I ignored it. I thought it was just my imagination or the
animals that I was just mishearing. Then I heard it again at 1 am. I
decided to check it out and sat in the room it came from. I could
hear the laughter but there was nothing there. The noise was coming
from the closet. I wandered over to the closet to see why there was a
baby crying. Maybe someone left a baby in my closet, I hope at least
anything else seems terrifying. I opened the closet door and to my
horror was the skeleton of a baby wrapped in a blanket.
“My
baby! You killed my baby!” screamed a voice from behind me.
I
turned around to see a woman. I live alone! What the hell is going
on? Why is she telling me I killed her baby? I tried to explain that
I found the baby like that but it didn't even seem like she was
looking at me. She charged at me but went straight through me towards
a man that now appeared behind me. There was a crash and a bang then
a blood curdling scream. The man had stabbed the woman. I was in
shock. The man looked at me and screamed then everything disappeared.
The same thing happened the next night.
One
day, after many weeks of owning the property, I found an old box in
the basement. It was filled with family photos. I began to hand them
on the walls, they are my family after all. That is when I saw the
man and the woman he killed with their baby. It was from 100 years
ago. I learned my family bought the property after the murder suicide
of the pictured family. That night I decided to end it all. I found
the baby bones and before the woman could get upset I took the baby
outside and buried it. After that the fighting stopped but every now
and then I still hear a baby laughing but this time it comes from the
back yard. I guess the baby never really wanted to leave.
